OMG, HE'S ALMOST ONE!!!

That's for you N!

Yes our little guy turns one on Friday and his first big birthday party is Saturday. I can't believe his first year is over with, at times it flew by and at times it stood still. No one said kids where easy (guess I should have listened to no one!!). This first year brought a lot of happiness: first baby boy kiss, first baby boy smile, first baby boy hug, first baby boy diaper change (sorry girls are so much easier!), first baby boy tooth, first baby boy steps. On the other hand there were a few challenges: first time dealing with baby acid reflux (horrible!), first time for 5 ear infections in 4 months, first time on antibiotics 7 times in 4 months, definitely not the first time having a child in this house not sleep! But I would not change a thing, really! When you see that two teeth smile and his arms reach up for you, it melts your heart and you just pick him up kiss him all over!

So what can this little stinker do at almost 1 year? Well as you can see he can climb the stairs; he knows his name; he waves bye-bye; he knows how to put a phone up to his ear and say hello (baby version of hello), he rules two 85 pound dogs, he loves to go swimming (points out the window and cry's to go in); he points to everything he wants and grunts; he can climb anything (which will explain his birthday present); he loves his family (especially big girl!); he loves to people watch at the stores; he still fits into a size 3 diaper; he has a great right arm and one day will be a pitcher; he still does not sleep well and on average only takes a 1 1/2 hour nap (sorry Esie).

A special thanks and kisses to Aunt Esie, without you this year would have just stood still. You made it possible for me to be a working mom who never had to worry about her little boy. We can never thank you enough! XOXOXO

Water Fun

Well at least that's what we thought! This past weekend was pretty hot so we thought it would be fun to let the kids play in water. We set up a water sprinkler in the backyard and got their swimsuits on. It started off okay.....

Then the water hit his face....

And then the fun was over. Only a face his Mommy could love!

Okay, at least one out of them had fun!

Next we tried the pool. The water was only 81 degrees, but M insisted that she wanted to swim. Mike and I were too chicken to go in the cold water so we just let C soak his feet. Once he saw M in the pool he wanted to go in further so Mike walked the big second step with him. He really liked the water. This was C's first time in the pool!

As usual our little fish loved the water, she did not want to get out.

I think C is going to love the pool this summer. Don't you just love his chubby little belly and crazy hair! (Pictures taken 6/7/07)

11 Months Old

So I am a little behind on pictures, but here is C on his 11 month birthday. He is such a big boy. He started walking about 3 weeks ago and just started to wear shoes. He still only has 2 teeth, but is starting to eat everything. He loves Gerber Puffs, especially the new cheese and veggie Puffs. We can not leave any cans of Puffs in open view or he points to them and starts crying. Today was the first day we tried macaroni and cheese and he loved it. He likes when we clap for him when he does something good, he gets a huge smile on his face. He is a lot of fun, but so different than M was at this age. He is so feisty, always into something (especially the kitchen cabinets), and never stays in one place to long. We love you so much C!

How We Spent Our Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday was a lazy day. We took C to get his first pair of shoes. He measured a 4 wide, he has the cutest little chucky feet. He was not impress with the shoes and kept trying to kick them off. After the mall, we took the kids to a park to play. The weather was unusally nice, actually when the sun went down it was pretty chilly.

Sunday M, C, Grammy, Pa, Esie, N, and I went to the zoo. It was both C and Pa's first time there. We had a fun time seeing all the animals, but remind me next time to bring Mike along to push the double stroller, oh my gosh those two are heavy!
