Mike and I both took her to school that day. On the way there she pointed out all the "American flags" she saw (it's a game her and daddy play) and she was telling me what she was going to do after school. It did not even bother her that she was on her way to start kindergarten in a new school, with a new teacher, and new kids. She always amazes me.
We walked M to her classroom and met her new classmates and some of her old friends too.
M only had school until 12pm, so I had taken the day off to pick her up with Esie and C and take her out to lunch to celebrate. Turns out she was way to tired after her first day to go out to lunch. So we just went home to relax.
This was M's first kindergarten project, based on the book "The Kissing Hands". It is her hand print on a puzzle and we put it together when we got home.
Grammy and Pa bought M a special cake for starting kindergarten. She loved it so much that she wanted to sleep with it that night and refused to let any one eat it. A week and a half later and it is still sitting on our counter.
So here's to the next 18 years of school M (yes, you are going to college for your bachelors and masters). I look forward to being there with you every step of the way; mastering your alphabet, learning long division, book reports, tests, sports, history reports, science projects, midterms, relationships, picking a college, picking a major, for everything! I LOVE YOU MCAKES!
