M started kindergarten July 25th. It was a very exciting day. She wore the outfit that she personally picked out from The Children's Place. We had stopped into the store to pick up some new flip flops and she picked up this pink shirt with little white flowers and said "Hey mommy, I think this would look really great on me!"; she is 4 1/2 and it's already starting.
Mike and I both took her to school that day. On the way there she pointed out all the "American flags" she saw (it's a game her and daddy play) and she was telling me what she was going to do after school. It did not even bother her that she was on her way to start kindergarten in a new school, with a new teacher, and new kids. She always amazes me.
We walked M to her classroom and met her new classmates and some of her old friends too.
M only had school until 12pm, so I had taken the day off to pick her up with Esie and C and take her out to lunch to celebrate. Turns out she was way to tired after her first day to go out to lunch. So we just went home to relax.
This was M's first kindergarten project, based on the book "The Kissing Hands". It is her hand print on a puzzle and we put it together when we got home.
Grammy and Pa bought M a special cake for starting kindergarten. She loved it so much that she wanted to sleep with it that night and refused to let any one eat it. A week and a half later and it is still sitting on our counter.
So here's to the next 18 years of school M (yes, you are going to college for your bachelors and masters). I look forward to being there with you every step of the way; mastering your alphabet, learning long division, book reports, tests, sports, history reports, science projects, midterms, relationships, picking a college, picking a major, for everything! I LOVE YOU MCAKES!

Back to School Night...
Wednesday night was back to school night at M's new school. She was so excited to go.
I can not believe how big she is, where did our little girl go???
M begged N and Esie to go with us. She has been to N's school a lot for sports events and picnics and wanted N to see her new school. She absolutely positively loves N!
This is M with her kindergarten teacher Mrs. Adams. We were very excited to find out that she was M's teacher. We met her several months ago at the "Kindergarten Round-up" and absolutely loved her.
This is M's desk. She will be sitting right next to her good friend from across the street. There are 3 kindergarten classes at her school and both her friends from across the street are in her class. That will definitely make the transition to a new school easier.

Go Fish...
M is such a little fish, she just loves to be in the pool. She has come so far with her swimming this summer. She can now almost swim the length of the pool in one breath and can swim to the bottom of the pool to pick up dive sticks. We are going to get her into swim lessons to help her with her swim strokes. Way to go M!
Of course I could not blog without posting some pictures of C! Ain't he just adorable in his boardshorts! My little boy is growing up.

Hope you all had a good weekend; I can't wait for the next one!

Happy 4th of July!
I have to say there is just something about a long weekend I love... extra time with the kids, time to run errands, get extra things done. Or at least that's how it starts....
On the 4th we went over to Grandma's house and took her out to lunch. Afterwards, we went home and Grammy, Pa, and Esie came over to swim and have dinner.
That night M went home with them for a sleep over and guess who slept the night, yes C!!!
Saturday morning we went out and bought a new rug for the family room, something we had been meaning to do for years. That night Esie brought M back home and let Mike and I go out on a date. We went to the Keg for dinner and then went to see the movie Hancock. It was nice to get out and not have to cut up someones food (Mike has really progressed with his eating skills, ha ha). We came home around 9:30 and both kids greeted us.
Sunday Esie and I took C and M for pictures. C need his 1 year pictures taken and M needed some new ones too. I will post them later, they turned out so cute. So, we did get a lot done over the long weekend, but it just seemed to go by so fast.

Our little puppy is turing one, come join us for all the fun...
C had his first big birthday party and I must say he did really well. I was not sure how he would do with all the family, but after a quick warm up period he was a partying little puppy!
HUGS and KISSES to everyone who came to the party. C is so lucky to have such a big, wonderful family that loves him so much!
Also, C shares his birthday with his cousin S in Tennessee and Rio (Esie and N's dog). In addition we found that it was Uncle Joey's birthday the day of the party and Esie's is July 2nd. So here's a big Happy Birthday going out to you all!

One Year Old
Yes, it's official, our little C is one year old. Althought his big birthday party was the next day we could not let the offical day pass without a small celebration. So Grammy, Pa, Esie, and N came over for some pizza and wings, to watch C open some presents (however M did most of the opening), to sing happy birthday and eat some cake.
Overall I think C had a pretty fun 1st birthday, needless to say the party ended with a bath!
